About Us

Our Philosophy

After a long day of touring and hiking, everyone wants a place to rest, relax and reflect on the days adventure. We strive to give you that place. Each suite has high quality linens to help you get a good nights sleep. In side each room is your own complete bathroom. Also with high quality Italian waffle towels. We provide a desk and free WiFi, so that you have an area to coordinate your days activities, pictures and communications. All suites have a television with cable.

There is a beverage area where you will find coffee, tea and ice cold bottled water. You can also grab the baked good of the day.

My Story

I'm originally from California. I came to the Black Hills for a visit, and didn't leave. Once I decided to sell my home in Cali, I found this wonderful old historic house on line. Upon walking through the door, I knew it was home.  I immediately saw the potential for a bed and breakfast. It took me six years of renovating and decorating before I opened. I love to decorate, so it was a labor of love.

I am also a foodie, so the thought of discovering and developing new recipes was and still is enticing.

Historic House

The house was built in 1919 and originally owned by John C Haynes, a  prominent businessman of his time. The house was then moved to it's current location in the early 1950's, and became a convent. The house was set up dormitory style to house the vast amount of sisters that resided here. Eventually the numbers dwindled until only two remained. The house was donated by the sisters to the Catholic diocese. Having no further use for the house, it was put on the market. That's when I purchased it. Now it has a new life as a Bed and Breakfast.

Our Great Location

We are conveniently located two blocks north of the Rushmore Convention Center and four blocks north of Downtown Rapid City. This makes a short scenic walk to the restaurants and shopping there. Not to mention all the events held in Main Street Square, such as Thursday night live, which features local bands, food and street vendors and plenty of activities. On Mondays you can enjoy movies under the stars. Downtown is also the location of all our presidential statues.

We are short drive in any direction for the big attractions. To the South is Mt.Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer Park. To the East is the Badlands and Wall Drug. If you go West, you will find yourself in Deadwood, Lead and Spearfish, not to mention Sturgis. These are but a few of the many sights you will enjoy in the Black Hills.
